Bookworm Poetry Thoughts..

So at the moment I am reading ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ By Stieg Larsson. I seem to have come late the party on this book with it already been made into a movie and has sold flipping insane numbers of copies, its good if not a bit slow to begin with, but I have been told to just stick with it... I am also reading George Orwell’s 1984 again ( have read it a few times but I love it..) also with the occasional chapters of ‘ The Ragamuffin Gospel’ by Brennan Manning, being glanced over, which is always a good book to have lying around for inspirational purposes...
Basically I am a Big Time Bookworm. My House mate Poppy gave me this book of Poetry to read through that she found at a charity store back in Las Vegas where she lives...I have been reading it and so far the small poem below called ‘Challenge’ is my fave...

Sometimes
On a very
Very clear night
When the air is thin
The trees are still
And the moon is distracted
You can stretch your arms your fingers
Your soul
A little bit
Into the endless
Timeless
Limitless and wordless
Sky-
Try it.

Darkness incident...

So Last night was all good and calm on the streets until it came time to go home.

As we were walking home a whole load of situations arose, one after another, the worst being a couple being so out of it, is was quite scary, the girl was seriously not of sound mind at the time and i really felt some darkness around us.

Some of our team were getting abit of agression from people and I had one girl who me and Bruce were walking home, telling us we were being patronizing all the while leading her home back to safety. It felt as if we were getting abit attacked and darkenss was trying to shake us abit...

I sometimes forget that the darkness does not want us here, and will continue to try and throw us off our goal of seeing people free from their bondage and giving their lives to God.
I thank God that he is bigger than and for my team mates who straight away knew what was happening and stepped up their prayer weaponery and we became the army of Gods light he calls us to be..

Well Worn Dancing Shoes...

So last night was a crazy one, as I went to Ibiza rocks to see not only Florence and the machine but also Kissy Sellout (love him) and The Drums... Florence was way better than I expected and we were quite at the front which was class, but I also went to see the half hour set that Kissy Sellout did and as always flippin dirty bangin beats loved it...

There was another band who I saw called The Drums from New York, they were very unique on stage, but it was interesting to see them...

After this I went straight out onto the streets with the new 2 week team and went and watched the firework display they do every year over the bay, then did the usual street work, then at 4am went to The Last 2 hours of Garlands at Eden.

After leaving the house at 3 in the afternoon I crawled back in at 6.30ish this morning, but a really good night, and tonight I am planning to go to ‘Reclaim the dance floor’ with chase and status after we have our 2 week team bar-b-q... so yeah dancing shoes are getting used a bit at the moment...

Sweet Treats

Over the last few months me and jud have been going into the 3 prominent strips clubs in San Antonio and been praying and giving out little packages of blessings in the form of baked cakes, sweets and chocolates.

This has worked on so many levels, on the one hand it is just a privilege to bless the bouncers, dancers and bar staff of these establishments, to get to know them better, start friendships up and for them to hear about 24-7 Ibiza and what we do and know we are here to serve them. On the other hand, it messes with a lot of the PR’s heads (PR’s stand outside their bar, trying to get people in, with various drink deals) as they know us and assume we would never go into their workplace. WRONG!

God is present in there and believe me, you can feel his heart break, but it doesn’t mean we are not going to go. Last night we went into one of them with just the simple intention of praying... It’s got to the point now where we don’t even have to pay for drinks as they know our faces and what we do (we don’t wear the 24-7 t-shirt) and they recognize that we love them .

Doing this has been a journey but I hope we, me and jud have been and 24-7 will continue to be, just a sweet a blessing, as all the goodies we have given out. We want our love and friendship to be the gift that hopefully will bring them the gift of salvation...the greatest free gift of all.

I Love Church...

Its official...we are in love, a scandalous gossiped about love... Seriously...
I know it has its flaws and if I was to focus on the negative things, there would be lots of reasons to get out before I get too deep, but it’s too late, especially when you have days like yesterday . Where church becomes the beautiful bunch of misfits that you saw Jesus wanting to break some bread with.

A Rag Tag Bunch and I was right there in the front row. There was a quote I heard once that said ‘if you can leave your bag unattended at church you aren’t reaching the right kind of people’ and today as I got up to sit somewhere else I left my bag, and 2 minutes later I was nervous about it...

Now I know most people would tell me to wise up and not be so preoccupied by material things, and they are right, but at the same time, I rembered that quote and thought ‘Yes, this church is getting to the vision Jesus had in mind for his church’ ... maybe our church members can from time to time, include me in tricky moments and occasionally I really have to try to think and make conversation, but that’s just because they are from a different culture than I am from..

I Love them. I Love Us... And if I have to have a few shaky awkward moments in the process then so be it... here’s to uncomfortable church...

Walk on...

'Even on a long journey, you have to take the first small step'....

I meet so many people out here who are at different stages in life and in their awareness to God, but no matter what, I always see God right by them.

Last night I got chatting to a guy and right away, after he heard what we do, he straight away said 'everything I believe would clash against your belief's' , thinking that we would see him as too far gone, and not even try and show him Gods love. WRONG! As soon as he said that I rembered me 4 years ago and how I thought I was so far away from God, but actually looking back, God was right beside me.

We are all on a Journey and I pray for the lad we spoke to, that in the next few steps, God Reveals himself and that would make him react to Gods love and Grace, so the next steps would not be small shy steps but massive bold leaps towards God.

Walk on Mate .....

The Family Rocks up!!!

This weekend the legend that is my mum Scottish Warrior Jackie and my brother’s fiancĂ©e Jenny came to visit me, and see what I do over here in the sunny months. It was so good to be able to show them all the things that I talk about over the winter and whilst I am here, they got to experience my lifestyle and see the West end where we do our street work (I took her at 10.30 I got her out of there before it became too mental) she got to meet of the few workers that we are friends with and also came to church on Sunday, saw the prayer room ( alot more prayers than she would of thought) and centre.
She also got to see Ibiza town and see the other side of the island, and she was surprised by how ‘Green’ the place is.

To me it was like 2 parts of my life meeting, which sometimes felt strange and uncomfortable and totally weird but I now know my mum has a greater understanding of my part to play out here ( but apparently it won’t make her worry any less about me). She also blessed me with meals out galore; I have never eaten so well. It was brilliant and I truly feel she has taken abit of the 24-7 passion with her home.

Grace infused jamming,,

Just had the most Amazing jamming session, with me, poppy and a new friend, in the prayer room at the 24-7 centre. It was brilliant, at one point we were singing Amazing Grace, and I nearly started losing my place with the chords as I was trying to hold back the tears, I was so struck by Gods plan for people, even those who we view as so far away... and that he loves us with all the same measure, no one is better than any one else, equal measure of love, he has that, even if we don't.
Amazing Grace, How sweet the sound,
that saved a wretch like me...
So True!

Wise Whispers in music...

Turns out i am a music theif, I am house sitting for the Heasely's and they dont know I have totally burned all their CDs onto my laptop... so I have some new music to listen to , as I was listening to it (lots of U2) I came across some really good song lyrics, and it got me thinking, there are some really good wise words through the music we listen to...not all have to be christian songs for you to hear God in them, Below are a few for your consideration...

Wine from water is not so small
But an even better magic trick
Is that anything is here at all
So the challenging thing becomes
Not to look for miracles
But finding where there isn’t one.- Holy Now, Peter Mayer.

Remembering you running soft through the night
You were bigger and brighter and whiter than snow.
Screamed at the make-believe, screamed at the sky,
And you finally found all your courage to let it all go. -Pictures of you, The Cure

Tough, you think you've got the stuff
You're telling me and anyone
You're hard enough

You don't have to put up a fight
You don't have to always be right
Let me take some of the punches
For you tonight

Listen to me now
I need to let you know
You don't have to go it alone- Sometimes you can't make it on your own, U2

Why I love Dogs..

"Dogs are our link to paradise. They don't know evil or jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring--it was peace."
- Milan Kundera

This week I am living over at Brian and Tracy's house, using the internet, eating their food and looking after Tom, their gorgeous scruffy Dog, who's smile is crooked but steals my heart every time he does it..
I love Tom and I love dogs in general, they make me happy, no judgement, no falseness, the quote above says it all, to sit with them is to be at peace. Donald Miller's blog (author of Blue like Jazz,) gives his Dog Lucy oppourtunites to sometimes contribute to it and its brilliant, she is such a good writer for a dog, .http://http//donmilleris.com/category/lucys-blog-posts/ , way better than I will ever be.
If you have a dog go and give him a hug right now, and if you don't, you loose sucker! (only joking)...But seriously if you need a hug with no judgement involved, go and find a dog, I guarntee you will be happy you did.

Swedish House Mafia - One

At this moment in time, this is my theme tune, i actually find myself singing this song, its everywhere here at the moment, and i love it.When this gets dropped in a club, it goes off big style...

Would love to see the Swedish House Mafia at Pacha on Mondays, but at 70 Euro's a pop that just ain't goning to happen.. so this is the next best thing.

Enjoy x

A Smile is the best makeup!

This weekend was a very chilled and relaxed one, with beach hanging on Saturday, and lying around the pool on sunday, with the church service in the evening..
A very good needed rest...right now I have a chilled smile on my face, and look forward to more rest time this week..read a quote today that said ' a smile is the best kind of makeup' and I totally agree!
(Es Cavallet Beach above, Abby and Hannah by the pool today.)

Goodbye Gorgeous Girl...

'How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messengers who bring Good News, the Good news of peace and salvation, the news that the God of Israel Reigns..' Psalm 52:7

Today is a sad day as KT one of our crew is leaving the island, her time here is done, I have loved her being here, watching Doctor Who and talking about random things, she's brilliant, and i know she has rocked it over here. I will truely miss her, but she is going back to Belfsat to kick ass for the lord over there.

KT love ya, Thanx for being you over here, you were/are a blessing to me..
